While, it was my first of its kind experience and I like I said, I can’t stop myself from going for it again and again. During my recent trip to Victoria, finally this came true.

I have always associated Afternoon Teas or sometimes called as High Tea with royalty and it came true when I was in Victoria. The city is full of amazing tea rooms and might leave you confused with which one to go for. But I am sure, all would be great.

While the most popular is at the Empress Hotel by Fairmont, but can he really heavy on the pocket. Having said that, there are many easy on pocket options and fairly leaving you with good experience. I opted for Venus Sophia Tea Room, and now I am quite proud of my discovery.

This independent and unique vegetarian eatery is the perfect place to enjoy your afternoon tea with its adorable atmosphere. When it comes to teas, you will not walk out being disappointed as it has assortment of organic and custom tea blends and you are free to drink as many flavours as you wish.

My favorite was the Lover’s Dream and the signature Venus Sophia Chai. We also had the Jasmine Flower and Cranberry Bliss.

Any of your favorite pot comes with beautifully presented in three tier vintage tray with delicate and delicious homemade sandwiches and savories. Fresh and locally baked breads are stuffed with assorted stuffings. Some of the ones that we loved were Creamy Medjool date and Secret Spices Sandwich, Cheddar with Radish Mayo and Fresh Dill are to die for. The flavor of the freshly baked Signature Cranberry Vanilla Scones is still lingering in my mouth. And the lovely selection of Pastries and custom desserts are to die for. I loved the Glitter Vanilla Cup Cakes with Lemon Curd filling and Butter Cream icing and so are the macaroons which are to die for!

The ambience of this place is truly welcoming and each customer is served with complete love and care. The mixed-matched furniture is successful in creating the cosy feel and the vintage bicycles, mix-matched tea cups and saucers, antique tea pots, is pleasure to the eyes . The place reflects the love, care and effort of this young couple behind revamping or creating this experience for whosoever comes there.

The best place to be if you are in this town and I am sure you will be filled with regrets in case you think of giving it a miss.

Good to know:

  • Make a prior reservation before going 250.590.3953 as it can get busy during peak our or weekends
  • Located in heart of Victoria’s Chinatown, it is very easy to locate this place
  • The seating starts from 11.00am
  • I found it the most reasonably priced and worth the experience. This would cost you not more than $26.00 per person. After all its worth the spend.
